After further experimentation I've found that if I add the location of my Type1 fonts to the font path (ie. cd to .../Type1 and do mkfontdir) XLoadFont() stops working, however if I make the fontpath default (xset fp default) and then cd .../75dpi mkfontdir everything seems to work OK. Is it possible that my XServer is too old to know about Type1 fonts? What ever it is, they seem to confuse LyX. I've also change the "-nil-" back to "--" since it was a mistake to change it in the first place. "-*-" should match to "--" anyway since "*" can be zero characters long. Anybody know what's going on? XF86 version 3.1.2.0
