to install a rpm files you do
rpm -i program_name.rpm

start up an xterm
type su in the xterm
type in your root password
then do the following as root
rpm -i aterm-0_3_6-1_i386.rpm

Sor for ktelnet.tgz first try to find the rpm version of this file
if not this is what you will have to do
start up an xterm
type su in the xterm
type in your root password
then do the following as root
gunzip -d ktelnet-0_61.tgz
rpm --tarbuild ktelnet-0_61.tgz

this is the same as your ktelnet.tgz
advise from me to you do not use ktelnet if you have telnet on your
system in the first place.
you better of using xmms to play your mp3's instead of kmp3
