It's almost a religious issue.

mutt, (n)nh, exmh, pine (yuk!), netscrape (yeech), staroffice, elm...
the list goes on and on.  Even the lowly but highly useful /bin/mail
has its good points.

Try before you stick with one you like.

I use exmh myself, but I wouldn't rate any of them as "best".  They
are all good, it's a matter of what you want.

The biggest problem with linux is that you get a very wide choice of
applications that you can use (not to mention a great deal of freedom
configuring things).  Man, what a problem!  :)

Then on the other hand, in my 6 years with linux, I've yet to see a
really brilliant mailer for linux...
