I'm using the pop3 server and whenever anyone connects I
have the following message (for example) in /var/log/messages

# PAM_pwdb[2593]: get passwd; pwdb: request not recognized
# ipop3d[2593]: Login failure user=drobinson host=[172.16.4.53]

When I login using Outlook Express, no problems (although very very
slow).
When drobinson logs in, see above.

drobinson is listed in /etc/passwd and there is a /home/drobinson.
he is also a member of group popusers.

I am relatively clueless as to where to look next.

I tried man ipopd - not much info there at all, although it did say
something about "specifying a login user name in the form <host>:<user>"
but it says absolutely nothing about where to specify it.

Thanks for any help or pointers.
