I actually made it against EGCS sources from CVS sometime this afternoon, 
but any recent version (including especially the 28/3 snapshot) should be 
OK.  The patchset is small enough now that it's not all that likely the 
rest of the code will change substantially underneath it.

A while ago we kicked around the idea of someone with some spare cycles and a 
reasonably fast net connection running regular automated builds of EGCS and 
glibc on sources from the CVS repository and making the testsuite results 
available to spot regressions.  It might be worth revisiting that plan now 
that glibc doesn't need any patches and egcs only needs a fairly small one 
(and, with luck, none in the reasonably near future).

The EGCS people might even have scripts to do this, I'm not quite sure.
