Forgive my ignorance, when might it be useful/necessary to record
*directly* into a SAFF, as opposed to post-process?  Offline process?
Save As...?

Are there times when you could conceivably be trying to simultaneously
stream/read the just-written material, for any purpose?  (Say,
record-and-webcast... ?)
