Depending on soundfonts, of course?
The default 8MB is not satisfactory.
There are a lot of free fonts on web in the wide range of file sizes.
The larger is not always better, though..

Yes, the program is included in my awesfx package.
Grab it from either http://www.alsa-project.org/~iwai/awedrv.html
or http://members.tripod.de/iwai/awedrv.html.

Please note that the ALSA emu10k1 driver still cannot handle large
soundfonts.  It's is purely due to the hardware limit - 32MB of PTB.
I'd like to fix this problem but it's still pending for long time.
