I also like the Firewire idea (also I do not know enough about latency problems). 400MBit/s -> 50MB/s. This should be enough for 136 32bit channels @ 96kHz: ([400/8]*1024*1024) / (96000*4) = 136.53 - communictaion overhead ... But something between 16 and 32 channels should be enough for the beginning. Using firewire we _only_ need a firewire IO-controler and avoid destrying mainboards while playing with selfmade PCI-cards. > Pieter k33p h4ck1n6 Ren -- Ren Rebe (Registered Linux user: #248718 <http://counter.li.org>) eMail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Homepage: http://drocklinux.dyndns.org/rene/ Anyone sending unwanted advertising e-mail to this address will be charged $25 for network traffic and computing time.
