For the bandwith of SPI I would have to take one of my Mororola books
out of the shelf (but I have to learn for exams, currently :-(), but
I�C would be far too slow. (Or did you really mean I�S (which I have
not heared, yet ...).

But with firewire we only need one box. An Firewire Interface
(stand-alone, or intergraded into an DSP [is there one?]) and then
connecting the AD and DA onverters somwhere on its busses. When we use
some of the high-quality Crystal ones, there is not much
anlog-component work to do to get really perfect sound - they do this
alone ;-) (ok - they cost a bit ;-)

There are one or two commercial firefire audio-boxes out - maybe
searching for a test report in the net would help.
