the chip design is not open source. its a proprietary device, manufactured in industrial quantities. i don't see it as at all similar to the ideas discussed in this thread. yes, it helped people start producing 8-12 channel audio interfaces. thats a good thing. it wasn't open source, it wasn't a group of hobbyists. --p
