I think that the he focus, practical limits, and "tone" of discourse are valid
and constructive areas worth exploring. Personal attacks have nothing to do with
linux C programing (except maybe in meetings with some users).
It does not take many words to form a question which could require volumes to
provide a literal and complete answer. What I find most valuable is sharing
insight and experience. It would not serve my purposes well to seek information
beyond the "bandwidth" of the communication channels at hand.
Frequently I am unable to formulate a proper question because I just don't know
enough about an area. I also believe I have any obligation to others not to take
up their time with questions which could be answered more easily, quickly, and
completely in immediately available sources. The search itself can be more
valuable then the object of it.
The expert advice offered by many participants and their generousity in sharing
their time and attention is impressive.
