1. What ncurses version you are running?
2. Does it reproduce both in console and xterm? Not all Linux
distributions have xterm or xterm-color running well with mouse. Try
to use terminfo from latest ncurses.
3. Did you try to compile and run test/ncurses.c? If it works, then
you probably have a bug in your code.
