RedHat install disk and IBM ThnkPad (380ED)

When trying to install RedHat 5.1 onto an IBM ThinkPad (380ED), it gets to
the point early in the process where you have to choose a keyboard type.
No matter what is chosen, as soon as OK is clicked, the whole thing crashes
with a reboot.

Does anyone know of a way around this problem?
