Hi People.
Excuse me by the
question, but I am a little confused. I am running under Red Hat 4.2 and
have recompiled kernel to support a Winbond NIC. the RH 4.2 kernel is a
2.0.30 and the new kernel is 2.1.10
I recompile kernel using make config, make dep...
After it, i reboot the system, but before prompt at
login show me the following message:
Red Hat Linux release 4.2 (Biltmore)
Kernel 2.0.30 on an i586
Localhost Login:
I am running under 2.0.30 yet?, or it is only a message
in a file. if this a message, can i change it?, how?
Other Question: I´m trying to change screen
mode to 80x50. i read about the parameter vga=ask at boot to test with modes or
vga=80x50. I add this line to lilo.conf but i don´t see any change. if i
am wrong
can anyone tell which file a
have to edit to change this parameter at boot?.
Any ideas?
