You are correct that only binaries can be distributed at the moment due to
Novell's reliance on the RSA BSAFE crypto library for authentication to NDS
and (IMHO) and their continued lack of foresight in recognizing the benefit
of opening up their protocols for everyone to use. I would imagine that, at
some point, they will either "get it" or enough of the world will move to
alternatives (Linux) that this whole thing wil be moot anyway. Meanwhile,
Caldera Systems is working to try to work to ensure the NDS client will work
with not only OpenLinux, but also other dists as well....
