No, don't do it like that... there are too many packages dependent on
XFree86 and rpm won't let you do that unless you --force it.

I guess you can do that, but you better know what you are doing :)

Better to do it like this:

rpm -Uh Xfree86*.i386.rpm

That will upgrade (and replace) and it should work smoothly.

Build 23?  Ahh, I guess you got these from the rawhide distribution :)

You probably also need to upgrade other things like the fonts, development
and runtime libraries, X11R6-contrib, Xaw3d, and Xconfigurator.  (And Xvfb
and Xnest as well if you use them).
