Ok, your serial port is set up ok. Good start.

What is in your /etc/ppp/options file? You need to tell the pppd daemon
where to talk to your serial port. It is usually /dev/modem - and this
file is a symbolic link to the actual serial port of the modem.

cd /dev
ln -sf modem ttyS2
ls -l modem

(You should use the ttyS? devices for the serial ports rather than the cua?
devices).

Then in /etc/ppp/options

57600
modem
/dev/modem
debug
crtscts
lock
defaultroute
noipdefault
connect 'usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/scr1'
<other options you may need, eg "name" for pap/chap>

chat isn't talking to the modem, and you have to tell pppd where it can be
found to that it can then get chat to talk to it.

Next time use something like debian or redhat. They have MUCH better
configuration tools (and lots of other advantages too, especially for
newcommers like yourself).

Cheers
