This is not necissary. I have samba access to and from my machine working
fine both passworded and unpassworded from 95 AND 98 and I didn't have to
patch ay regestry keys. I'm not sure exactly what option it was however
that fixed this, because I added MANY things to my smb.conf file. After
these changes, it worked. I'd be happy to mail a copy of my smb.conf file
to anyone who wants it.
