Shadow Passwords!

Big Problem, hopefully easy solution!

I ran the upgrade  5.0 -->5.2 of redhat.

It installed the Shadow passwords "Feature"
with my custom programs,  I cannot easily take advantage of the
shadow passwording....   Cannot find a way to shut if off!!  help!!

(getting sick of copy-pasting crypts from shadow to passwd file!!)
