I got used to this nice feature of RedHat that when login-out it clears the
screen and the new issue/login-prompt texts end up at the very top corner of
the cleared screen (just like when you boot up your machine for the first
time).

Now I installed Slackware 4.0 and it doesn't clear the screen, but leaves
everything from the last session on the screen and the login-prompt at
random places along the screen (depending how much text there was on the
screen before logout). If I clear the screen in my 'bye' alias (clear;exit)
it still leaves and prompt at the upper left corner of the screen before the
issue-text and login-prompt:

How can I get this to behave like RedHat's login? Is these some escape code
that clears the screen which I could put into the issue -file or an
parameter to login? I tried to look arround in /etc without finding anything
very informative.=(
