Hi Folks,

I'm trying to salvage some _old_ SparcStations by getting them to run Linux.
I have finally got RedHat 6.0 installed on a SparcStation 10. Most things are
up, and running well. The Xserver starts up on boot, I get the regular xdm
login, I can login etc.

Problems arise only whenever the Xsun server crashes (it seems to do so frequently).
e.g. If I kill X with Crtl+Alt+Backspc. The server refuses to restart.
Xsun quits with

Fatal server error:
Unsupported keyboard type x

where is x a random two digit number.
The errors go away on reboot, start again if Xsun dies, but with a new x.

Have looked in /var and /tmp for lock files but there don't seem to be any.

I have a cgsix framebuffer. During installation Xconfigurator correctly
detected it as a Turbo GX Plus but reported an error while testing the
server. The keyboard is standard Sun. Excerpts from dmesg :

Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 128x54
fb0: cgsix at e.20000000 TEC Rev 4 CPU sparc Rev b
...
Sun TYPE 5 keyboard detected without keyclick
Sun Mouse-Systems mouse driver version 1.00

I have upgraded all the relevant packges. X server is XFree86-Sun-3.3.3.1-52

Any ideas about what might be happening ?
