thanks guys for all the mails on the sound card thing but i still am where i was Bfore. I got answers  varying from gettin a new sndcard  to getting getting driver updates from www.linuxapps.com , but seriously my position hasnt changed a least bit. I appreiciate your  help but unlike u guys i m what u call a newbie and not a 'bond'. So please guys would u mind substantiating a bit more.   Another thing is there any book in town from where i can gain useful knowledge or mayb a site or 2.   Thanks ,all help would be appreciated mohit   ---------------------------
