Vipin, try out one thing..it might work...I did have the same problem while installation problem initially...I did it the long way...

1st: enter windows..& install a 3rd party partitioning software preferablly PARTITION MAGIC 4.0 or later..Using the software create multiple partitions in windows..FAT16 or FAT32 partition..make sure the last partition is of around 2-3 GB (the amount of space u will be allocating to Linux)..The software is easy to use & has a graphical interface...u will manage to do it very easily....

PRECAUTIONS - in this step: donot proceed if you have some system software like Norton Utilities or Norton Anti-Virus...these create problems in Partition Magic as they donot allow the disk to be partitioned....Donot use prepare the system for a new software option...it is better to do it the long way..

2nd: boot into the system using linux CD & then in disk druid-delete the last partition(FAT32 or FAT16)..After that simply add partitions../ & swap & user & bin  

There on u can simply install..smoothly..

MY hdd size is 10GB and I am unable to make any size
