I upgraded a debian slink to potato, remotely, with the box at a place
where I had no access, and the co-locator is clue-less. Apart from actual
download, (10 minutes) the dist-upgrade took 19 minutes. No reboot
required (I did not upgrade kernel).

A well configured APT is worth an arm.
