I got cable and it works pretty well. The Cable modem is a bit bigger than the dial-up
modem and uses Ethernet to connect to your PC. My Cable provider uses DHCP. So long as
you're able to configure your Ethernet card on Linux, you can use cable with
effortless ease. My Ethernet card came with drivers which I compiled and loaded as a
kernel module on bootup. No extra config necessary.
