Diald losing packets

Hi,

I'm using diald 0.16 on Redhat 5.1. When I bring up diald with an
application ie netscape or kdemail they time out waiting for the link to
come up, I am using a modem to my ISP. I have tried  "echo 5 >
/proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_dynaddr" in my rc.local but I still have the problem.
Any other ideas ??
