I just about got diald working. I need more help. I know I can issue
the command from the command line:
# /usr/sbin/pppd connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/ppp/pppscript"

and it will connect my machine to my ISP and dynamically assign it an
IP address. I am using a Motorola ISDN TA through my serial port. So I
took the sample diald.conf and modified it to suit my sytem (see
diald.conf). I started diald with the daemon (see /usr/sbin/diald
-daemon) option so I could see what it was doing. My machine connected
(see /var/log/messages), but the ping (see ping brie.com) did not
work. I investigated the problem and it looks as if the ppp is
interfering with the proxy slip (see syslog) diald has formed. I am
not sure I understand how "connect" functions. It looks as if it
appears in several places. What modifications should I make?

brian.
