Your problem is strickly kernel-related; ie:  IPFWADM WILL NOT WORK WITH
2.1.X KERNELS.  This is covered in the README changes file in the kernel
distribution.  You MUST use the ipchains utility.  Its format is quite
different, as it changes to a MUCH more powerful way of defining firewalls
(as its primary job is firewalls, not IPmasq).  I suggest reading the
IPCHAINS-HOWTO, available at any up-to-date LDP mirror.  It was all I
needed to get going again.  It will tell you what you have to compile into
your kernel and all.
