As long as we are talking about RPM's it should be noted that the one in
the RH5.2 directory (0.16.5) is not really a"plug&play" type. The
constructor built it in such a way that it needs to be understood &
tweaked before it'll work.
The RPM in the 4.2(?) i386 directory (0.16.4-1) is put together in a
fashion that you can probably just drop it in & run with it, assuming
you have your ppp stuff already configured.
If you want to use the newer version then look at the connect option in
the file /etc/diald/diald.conf, which the RPM will drop in. I think you
have to comment it out & replace it with something like:
connect "/usr/sbin/chat -v -f /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/chat-ppp0"
for Redhat 5.2
Have fun, drop a line if you get problems & i'll look over my old notes
Joel
ps. Read the man page & the doc.
