Diald uses pppd for the dialling and authentication, so there is no
difference here. If you PAP authentication works with pppd it will
work with diald.

You need ISDN4Linux driver/software for this. Normally you
wouldn't use diald for that, but use the dial-on-demand
stuff that is built in to ISDN4Linux. See
