Diald passes some variables to the ip-up script:
1) interface (ppp0, ppp1, .....)
2) netmask
3) local-ip
4) remote-ip
5) metric

You can turn-on masquerading and firewalling in the ip-up script, and turn them off in
ip-down; it works for me.

In diald.conf, you can put 2 really bogus addresses for local and remote (I use two
198.*
addresses, whereas my lan has another network address).

Ciao.
