I've been trying this today.
First on 2.0.36/SLIP. Found one problem: when the link goes down, diald soaks
up all the CPU time it can get. The logs show
Feb 22 10:30:54 mail diald[16960]: bind snoopfd: Bad file descriptor
I tried taking at peek with gdb; the select at line 187 of diald.c is returning
-1 and EBADF. I suspect it's coming back immediately and then sitting in that
loop. Unfortunately I have no clues as to why the snoop should suddenly start
failing.
Fiddled a bit with no joy, so took the hint and got round to moving to 2.2.1
and enabling Ethertap. Works fine now. :-)
