Just another data point. :)

There are some problem with TCP in 2.2.2 (various patches floating around
linux-kernel).  Though to be fair there are some problems with TCP in 2.0.x
as well, they are not the same ones however.

I'm not seeing the trouble you describe. 2.2.2-ac7 but as can be seen from
the version I'm using Alan Cox's patches.  I also do not attempt to remain
online continuously.  So perhaps I'm not on long enough for the trouble to
manifest.
