I spoke to soon I think earlier when I thought I was having a problem
with diald and buffering. I have been playing with full debug and find
that on the initial link-up, I send SYN packets to my ISP's DNS server
on my local interface I defined in my diald options file. The problem
I think is that I use a dynamic IP assignment from my ISP and if I don't
re-send a SYN packet AFTER the link is up, I receive no ACK packets from
my ISP so I never get to actually get any data. If I send another
request after the link is up, the SYN packets show my new IP address
from PPP and I promptly get ACK packets and start transfering data.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get diald to reflect my new IP address
before sending SYN packets so I receive ACK packets on the proper
interface without having to re-send SYN packets after the link is up?

Thanks again,

Brian Dawson
