Hi. I have been following this thread for several days now as I have the same
problem
on my network (Linux box with dialup connection and DNS). Oddly enough, only one of
the two Win95 boxes that I have connected is causing this problem. Every 15 minutes,
diald dials up and connects to the internet for 30 seconds.
If I were to try to resolve the WORKGROUP name with named, I assume that I would put
an entry in one of the zone files like this: (actually, I tried this and it didn't
work)
WORKGROUP A 10.10.10.0 ( my hosts are .100, .110, .120, and .130)
If not, where do I take care resolving this name and what would the entry look like ?
(I am a relative DNS newbie).
Also, on a related note, whenever diald connects to the internet, I find an entry in
my
syslog file: "pppd [xxx]: cannot determine ethernet address of proxy ARP".
What does that mean ?
Other than these two annoyances, diald works great !
