I'm curious about the demand dialing features in the newest versions of pppd. The problem is when I do "make kernel" to modify the kernel source files necessary to enable this, I end up with compile errors in the kernel. I've tried this with several recent kernels (I don't remember exactly which versions -- 2.0.34 or 35, maybe), with similar errors in each case. Are others of you seeing these errors, too, or am I doing something really wrong? I'm able to make other kernel patches without killing things, so I don't think I'm making stupid mistakes. Or, do I need the 2.1 kernel series? I'm a little afraid of starting over.... Now the big question: If you've succeeded, is pppd's demand dialer better than diald?
