I'm trying to set up diald 0.6.5 on a RH 5.1 box. The script works fine,
calls, logs in. Diald writes to the log file saying it's running pppd, and
the parameters it displays (sorry, I don't have the log here) looks correct.
After about 20 seconds or so, pppd exits on signal 1.
I've got a static IP address from my isp. Both it's address and the dial in
address is specified in the diald.conf. I've tried it with a combination of
with and without the dynamic keyword.
In the ppp options file, I've got the debug keyword specified, and I see no
ppp packet information in /var/log/messages. When using ifup ppp0,
everything works fine, and I see the control packet trace in the logfiles.
I've tried a combination of versions of pppd, including one from Slakware.
I've compiled the diald on a RH 5.0 box, with the latest patches applied.
Anybody have any ideas?
