OK thanks to everyone that helped with my diald setup for network and
diald comunications. I now have it working corectly on the 1 machine
(call this router).
I now want to use this machine to do the same things (dial the isp on
an internet address and go through the LAN on a Class A address) for
all my networked workstations. I thought that all I would have to do
is change the gateway of the workstations but that does not apear to
work. I can ping to a net address and it brings up the dial
connection but it never responds to the ping. Also traceroute just
gives me back '*'.
I can send you my routeing tables if you think that will help. The
machine that I am using for router is a Debian 2.0 with the newist
diald .deb package installed. I have turned on firewall and
masquerading in the kernel but I have not configured them yet.
Thanks for any help.
Brian
