desperate help needed

I am trying to get diald configured on a RedHat 5.2 distribution.  I have
configured ppp in the network manager, and can make normal ppp connections
when started from there.  When I run diald, it dials up, connects, then
drops the connection.  It does this continously.  I need to have this
working by this weekend.
