MY BAD! I really contributed to the increase in entropy with part of this.
The patch file diald-patch-016.5.gz does in fact patch diald-0.16.5 so it
will compile. I was just stupid about uncompressing it.
I had a little trouble using patch, but I got it to make and install now.
I hope this doesn't distract too many people.
