It works fine on Redhat 5.2, and Redhat 6.0 with some minor
modifications.  The best thing to do is try it.  There may also be a
pre-packaged diald rpm at ftp://contrib.redhat.com, that way you will not have
to compile it.  I know Debian ( favorite Linux distribution :-) has a packaged
version of diald.  I have not used slackware in years but I think there is
also a diald package for it.
