I agree completely. I've just been using linuxconf for a little
while, and so far it seems to combine the best features of traditional
Unix rc files and the (shudder) Windows Registry. It's got a nice,
consistent interface making it easy to set things up, but if you need
something weird or something breaks (I haven't been able to get it to
set up Samba right), you can go in and edit the file directly.
