My guess would be that udp 1024 is an arbitrary number...  probably the 
first available port on the Windows box (although I don't think it should 
be, but hey, it's Windows.)

It's a DNS request, netbios is attempting to resolve a name it doesn't know 
by using DNS, just like any other app.  He should be able to solve the 
problem by unchecking "Enable DNS for Windows Resolution" on the "WINS 
Address" tab of the TCPIP Properties.

I think this is in the how-to..

just a guess.
