2.0.x kernels do not have tap support, according to the documentation in
the source pack. the Makefile is incorrectly set up to detect this, so
add " #undef AF_NETLINK " in proxy.c and proxy-tap.c just after the
#include line at the top.

also, see what glibc you have (run rpm -q glibc)
