I have installed diald on quite a few linux boxes. I have never had this
problem before. The machine is a 486 33mhz with 32 mb ram. It is running red
hat 5.0.
When diald is started everthing runs fine, it does the connect script, it
sends username and password to the ISp but just before it is assigned an IP
address and pppd starts, gives message "conect script timed out" it then
drops the line and tries again. Sometimes it gets through but this is a
problem.
I saw on the diald home page under FAQ, that I should add two extra lines in
/etc/resolve.conf add two extra identical nameservers. I have done this and
it seemed to help slightly the script gets further than it did before I did
this.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
