Yes I did.  When I went back to double check that I had (after doing a
step by step setup of the forwarding stuff) I gave it a try and voila...
it worked.

An reflection I think I go so wrapped around the axle that things that
should have been were undone (ip_forward set).  So I went back to square
one and did a step by step.

Thanks Kirk and everyone else that helped.

Last question is where to put the forwarding/firewalling rules for use
with diald.  With ipfwadm I put them in the diald sysv script
(/etc/rc.d/init.d/diald).  Does it make sense to place the ipchains stuff
there?
