Probably not. You are running a newer kernel which does not
support interface metric. Older kernels did. It almost
certainly isn't a problem unless you are trying to do
something strange with routed.

Think about it. The address you use is the one where packets
will be sent if there is no better route known. If you use
the local address it implies the local system will know
how to send the packets on their way. Does it? All it knows
is that packets with no better route should be sent to itself.
Use the remote address :-).
