You have to compile ethertap support into the kernel and specify it in the
/etc/conf.modules - but you don`t probably need this when using sl0 ...
(info is in the diald source tree README.ethertap or so)

Just ignore this, harmless message (see previous posts on this list)

ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT THIS ????  It appears in the logs of many people incl.
me.  Nevertheless it seems to work even with this for me.

looks like configuration of the rules which bring the link up problem to me
...
