I have diald 0.99.1 working fine on a RedHat 5.2 on a P-166 and I'm trying
to upgrade to RedHat 6.0 on a PII-400.

After installing RH 6 and configuring diald 0.99.1 like the old system on
my new computer, I tried to test diald and for my surprise it didn't work.
When I ping outside my network, diald dials out, connects, but I dont't get
any response.

I decided to test in a least complex way (starting the pppd by ifup), but
the problem persisted (no response). Finally I tried to ping the remote
adrress of the ppp0 interface and i got no response. Here is what I got
when I ping the remote address:

# ping 200.212.48.198

# tcpdump -i ppp0
11:11:55.391629 200.188.66.176 > 200.212.48.198: icmp: echo request
11:11:56.391632 200.188.66.176 > 200.212.48.198: icmp: echo request
...
11:12:16.391630 200.188.66.176 > 200.212.48.198: icmp: echo request
11:12:17.391706 200.188.66.176 > 200.212.48.198: icmp: echo request
