After some more digging it seems to be something on my ppp settings might be the problem. It seems that route isn't being set correctly by Diald.
Here's a comparison between Diald and wvdial.

How can i fix this problem.
Second is this from my messages file. This occurs only when Diald is invoked. wvdial does not produce these messages.
I've checked thru the Configure.help file in /usr/src/linux and there is no module called 'tap*'. So what exactly is this message trying to tell me. There's nothing like this in my /etc/modules.conf file either. archive of the mailing list, almost everybody has that message, and nobody
ever complained about it!
